Description
ONS is seeking to appoint a provider to accredit a series of learning modules to support the development of analysts across government.
The modules are based on the accredited former RSS Higher programme split into six modules, offered as a level 5 scheme that aligns with the recognised career pathway for statistical analysts. The titles are as follows and the module content (copyright owned by ONS) is provided as appendices
o Module 1 – Data collection and interpretation
o Module 2 – Probability models
o Module 3 – Basic statistical methods
o Module 4 – Linear models
o Module 7 – Time series and index numbers
o Module 8 – Survey sampling and estimation
The programme is run over two years, with three modules per academic year. All sessions will be run by ONS staff, and we will provide the assignments and examination invigilation (under direction from the accrediting body).
The supplier will be required to set level 5 examinations, mark examinations and provide a valid accreditation to students who pass, identifying any necessary adjustments within the content to bring the modules in line with academic requirements.
