THE RELEASE OF THE RELEVANT DOCUMENTATION IS SUBJECT TO A SIGNED NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT BEING COMPLETED, SIGNED AND SENT TO JOSHUA.PAPP@UKSBS.CO.UK Purpose: The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) as the UK’s leading public funding agencies for the environmental and biological sciences have launched a pre-competitive funding programme to address water and nutrient-related challenges hindering the delivery of sustainable agricultural systems. The strategic aim of the Sustainable Agriculture Research & Innovation Club (SARIC) is to support innovative research and research translation that is both scientifically excellent and industrially relevant. By bringing together the UK environmental and biological science research communities, and co-developing the funding programme with industry, SARIC will facilitate the delivery of collaborative and innovative projects to address two key challenges identified by the funding programme’s industry members. The contract will be initially for three (3) years, commencing September 2014, with the possibility of extending for up to a further two (2) years following a performance review. Consideration will be given to job-shares. At this stage, the estimated value is approximately £50,000 per annum.
