II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

The scope of the tender is to source highly skilled providers for the principal technical works as defined within the tender documents to be published in August/September 2015.
Requirements to be undertaken and completed during AMP6 include (but is not limited to):
1. Validation and refinement of the AMP5 WREA water resource simulator,
2. Development of long-term planning scenarios for the following:
a. Climate change,
b. Hydrology and hydrogeology,
c. Hydroecology, and
d. Demand (household and non-household including demands for the agricultural, power and manufacturing sectors),
3. Development of options for maintaining the supply-demand balance. This includes:
a. Engineering appraisals for supply-side options such as winter storage reservoirs, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), desalination, water reuse, regional and sub-regional water grids and water trading,
b. Appraisals of demand management options such as metering, water efficiency and leakage reduction,
c. Field testing of an ASR scheme in the lower Trent valley,
4. Synthesis of the above in an updated version of the regional water resource simulator and ‘shared vision’ planning based on multi-criteria search and RDM. It is expected that this work will lead to draft and final versions of an agreed long-term water resource strategy, and
5. Completion of a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) on the preferred long-term strategy.
