Background A central government organisation requires a Application Services Analyst for a 6 month contract based in London. Main Duties/ Responsibilities Work on service definitions, descriptions/requirements and cost model & pricing on a major ICT Programme. The candidate will also provide applications assurance and subject matter experts (SME) services for Business applications. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved An SME (Subject Matter Experts) providing application assurance As an SME you will be responsible for providing assurance to the client’s Business applications. Working with suppliers and other key stakeholders within ICT to ensures the overall functionality and performance of an application consistently meets the Business requirements for today and remains good enough for the future, and ensures the application is presented to the Business with the required availability at the correct price. Skills/ Experience Required Essential: •The successful candidate will be an experienced IT professional. • You will possess strong communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills. • Has an analytical and creative approach to problem solving. • Is able to absorb new technical, commercial and business concepts quickly, and work with them. • Has recognised expertise in the technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment. Has a sound, broad knowledge of IT and an excellent understanding of how the technical specialism relates to other areas of IT and how it impacts on other business functions. Is persuasive in communicating at all levels and is able to ensure that advice regarding the technical specialism is acted upon. Desirable: • Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies. • Understanding of the Government and working in the justice system. • Demonstrated awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT. • Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT – e.g. Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy. • Understanding of the organisation’s IT/Information Systems plans, business objectives and some awareness of comparable organisations. • Overall understanding of the skills or business units serviced by the IT areas supported. • Probably educated to degree level or holds a professional qualification or equivalent experience. • ITIL V3 qualifications(s) or equivalent experience.
