Description of the contract

The Commission intends to establish new Panel of Counsel, members of which will provide legal services, including representation and advice. These services will support advisory, influencing, regulatory and enforcement work across the equality and human rights spheres, including strategic litigation in domestic and European courts. The Commission is committed to appointing the best quality candidates for our requirements, regardless of age, disability, race, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership, maternity and pregnancy, and caring status. The Commission seeks counsel with a range of levels of experience, up to and including QC and hopes that applicants will come forward from as broad a range of backgrounds as possible. The Commission also hopes to achieve a panel with geographical diversity to help support stakeholder engagement across Wales, Scotland and the English regions and to assist with the development of our pipeline of cases. All successful applicants should have a reasonable expectation of receiving work from us during the new framework agreement. Advocates and solicitor advocates from across Scotland and barristers and solicitor advocates from all circuits in England and Wales are encouraged to apply.
