Description of the contract

Conwy County Borough Council’s Property Management and Asset Services Department invites suitably qualified contractors to apply for inclusion on an Approved List for undertaking reactive jobbing repairs and minor works on the Corporate Property Portfolio – Land and Buildings.

Contractors will be expected to have the capacity to undertake all work applied for by means of suitably trained directly employed labour and be able to provide a call out service for emergency work required to be undertaken out of normal office hours.

The List will comprise key trade categories (see list below) and in order to be included, contractors will be required to possess a thorough knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 and be able to demonstrate competence in undertaking such work – separate evidence of relevant experience will be required for each trade category applied for.

Contractors will be evaluated based on the lowest price offered for undertaking work on the basis of time and materials, and competency.

A maximum limited number of contractors will be admitted onto the list within each trade category (as listed below) and work will be distributed between them.

It is intended that the list will not be re-advertised for a period of two years.

There is no guarantee of work once successfully admitted onto the List.

Contractors will be required to hold the following limits of insurance:

• Employers Liability Insurance £10,000,000 (min)

• Public Liability Insurance £5,000,000 (min)

Contractors must be able to confirm that the address from where resources are to be deployed is not in excess of 45 minutes travelling time of Conwy- reference point LL31 9XX – this will be verified using Google Maps. Any application that does not meet this requirement will be rejected.
