The Contracting Authority is seeking to appoint a number of consultants as part of a complete design team. Each consultant will be appointed individually and will report directly to the Consultant Project Manager. The consultants’ works are defined within the ‘Lot’ packages but can broadly be defined as follows:
Lot 1: Architect:
a) Design of a new Welcome Centre;
b) Design of the alterations to the Chapter House to create learning, office and volunteer spaces;
c) Redesign of exterior spaces for improved pedestrian and vehicular access.
Lot 2: Quantity surveyor:
a) Architects works;
b) Engineers works;
c) Archaeologists works;
d) Interpretation and Exhibition Designers works;
e) All other construction related costs.
Lot 3: M & E services engineer — to assist the architect with the design and development of the new Welcome building and Chapter House alterations;
Lot 4: Structural engineer — to assist the architect with the design and development of the new Welcome building and Chapter House alterations;
Lot 5: Interpretation and exhibition designer — Working closely with the Activity Plan consultants review the existing offer and provide interpretation and exhibition design advice to assist the architects in designing the most appropriate building and developing and designing an interpretation strategy and exhibition design for the new Welcome Centre and the Cathedral as a whole;
Lot 6: Activity plan, marketing and audience development consultant – to work alongside the Cathedral team to develop a comprehensive and robust Activity Plan for the HLF Round 2 submission and on going use including a Volunteer Development Report;
Lot 7: Business plan advisor — develop the outline business plan into a full business plan for the HLF Round Two submission;
Lot 8: Management and Maintenance Plan — of all capital aspects of this project.
