Information about lots

Lot No: 1 Lot title: Provision of asbestos removal services associated with asbestos management (non large Project) – Framework Agreement

1)Short description:
Royal Mail is seeking expressions of interest for provision of Asbestos Removal Services to Royal Mail Group Ltd across the UK including N.Ireland and Scottish Isles.
It is advised that only companies that have UK national coverage capability will be considered.
Asbestos removal services include but are not limited to the removal, encapsulation, sealing and repair of asbestos containing materials and the provision of all necessary equipment and competent staff.
Applicants will be assessed against their capabilities to perform Asbestos Removal (non Large Project – see note below). Royal Mail envisages up to three suppliers being appointed to the Framework under this Lot. Royal Mail reserves the right to assign the suppliers appointed to this Lot a status of Primary / Secondary / Tertiary supplier based on each supplier’s ability to provide the best service in geographical regions designated by Royal Mail. This does not affect the overall requirement for suppliers to demonstrate capability for national coverage, as a supplier which is Primary supplier in (e.g.) the South East will be a Secondary or Tertiary supplier in (e.g.) the North. Within each Region the Primary supplier will be the first supplier approached for work required under this Lot. In the event that the Primary supplier is not able to carry out the work, the Secondary and then the Tertiary supplier will be given the opportunity to do the work. Royal Mail reserves the right not to award work to a Secondary or Tertiary supplier if this would result in the Removal and Consultancy work being performed by the same supplier.
No supplier will be assigned a Primary role for the same geographical area for both Lot 1 and 2 because Royal Mail intends to (where possible) separate the work of Removal and Consultancy. If it appears through the evaluation process that the same bidder would be in a position to perform both Removal and Consultancy as Primary supplier in the same geographical area, the bidder will be invited to express a preference for Removal or Consultancy and will be assigned Primary status for only one Lot in each geographical area.
2)Common procurement vocabulary (CPV)
