II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

EC0712 Darwin Development Asbestos Removal.
PQQ to be returned no later than 12 Noon on the 20.11.2015.
We wish to appoint a Main Contractor to carry out the soft strip and asbestos removal from the Darwin Tower. Our Darwin complex is located within our King’s Buildings Campus.
The route will be via a traditional standard building contract with contractor designed portions. The Main Contractor will be responsible for the soft strip and asbestos removal work and undertaking the design, installation and removal of the temporary works for an agreed lump. The Works are to commence April 2016 and are to be completed by August 2017.
The University estimates that the overall construction value for work will be circa eight (8) million GBP and funding has been approved.
Weightings linked to this tender will be Cost 60 percent and Quality 40 percent.
The PQQ shortlisting decision shall be based on passing the minimum standards (pass/fail) as detailed within our PCS-T quality envelope (Section 2) as well as on the results of the scored technical questions as detailed within our PCS-T technical envelope (Section 3) and we will take the highest six Suppliers (subject to meeting a minimum threshold score of no less than 50) through to the ITT stage and they will be invited to tender (ITT).
The ITT stage will comprise of a price for the asbestos removal work/costs and a further questionnaire. The questionnaire will be marked and both weighted as per the award criteria to get a final cost/quality mark. All companies selected for the ITT stage will be invited for interview and the interview marks will be incorporated into the overall quality score.
