Description of the contract

Following a previous notice seeking Expressions of Interest, Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES) Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) seeks to commission a pilot Gypsy and Traveller Outreach Service to engage with Gypsy Travellers, Irish Travellers, New Travellers, Boaters, Showmen/women, Roma communities and itinerant workers in the CCG area. The pilot Outreach Service will engage with the target communities and test the provision of direct community and individual support. The service will be piloted from November 2014 to March 2016. The pilot will also require the provider to work collaboratively with the CCG to collate and analyse service data in order to assess requirements and inform the CCG’s commissioning plans for the service once the pilot scheme has concluded. The service specification for the pilot links to NHS, Adult Social Care and Public Health Outcomes Frameworks. The provider will be expected to: • engage with communities, • identify populations and need, building on the findings of the Bath and North East Somerset Gypsy, Traveller, Boater, Showman and Roma Health Survey, 2012-2013, • facilitate members of the communities to access mainstream services, • work with existing Outreach services, • develop links with mainstream services, • work with the Stakeholder Steering Group to contribute to the development and evaluation of the pilot service.
