Justification for a framework agreement, the duration of which exceeds four years: The frameworks may be extended once at the BBC’s discretion by up to 12 months.
The BBC is aware of existing requirements for the equipment and services set out in this contract notice which extend for a period of 5 years from commencement of the framework agreement(s). Obtaining equipment and services under this contract notice will enable the BBC to ensure consistency for key outputs across the BBC estate.
The framework will therefore initially run for a period of 4 years with the possibility of extending for a further 1 year.

The BBC is seeking to establish a roster of non-exclusive framework agreements for the supply of a range of various types of sound and production desks at various times and in various quantities to facilitate and support its on-going operations. These will include sound mixers and related equipment to service the full range of BBC requirements including edit facilities, network studios and major multi-channel music consoles. The framework will include provisions for associated consumables, accessories and maintenance/service support packages for the equipment/hardware.
The purchasing of products will vary from small ad-hoc requirements through to large volumes, as required.

In the case of technology requirements, the BBC may involve its technology partner (Atos IT Solutions and Services Limited) to assist in the scoping and drafting of invitations to tender and/or the evaluation of tenders. However, the final decision as to which is the most economically advantageous (by reference to the award criteria) will be made by the BBC. The awarding authority reserves the right not to award a contract and to annul the procurement process at any stage. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in sterling and all payments will be made in sterling. The contract shall be subject to English law. The awarding authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest, or any tender and reserves the right to accept part of a tender unless the tenderer expressly stipulates otherwise in the tender document.
