The Council will be requiring the Contractor to pay its staff engaged directly on providing the services the Living Wage (or, if higher, any statutory minimum or national living wage). The Council considers this is appropriate in the light of the Public Sector (Social Value) Act 2012 and the fact that the contract is unlikely attract cross-border interest. The Council has considered whether to divide the contract into lots, but considers that in the light of previous experience, the need to a high quality and consistent service, and the likely savings of cost and efficiency, a single contract should be let for the whole of the Services.
The Tender documents will be in substantially the same form as have been published by the Council, and the final form of the documents will be issued to those suppliers selected to submit tenders.
Estimated values are on basis of an extended contract, contract duration stated is for initial term of 36 months, but the contract will permit an extension of up to 2 years at the Council’s discretion.
