Building construction work. Construction work for buildings relating to education and research. Construction work for university buildings. Construction work for buildings relating to health. The University of Bradford wishes to invite expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced main contractors to undertake the refurbishment of the existing Phoenix South-west building on the Universities City Centre campus. The building in question was originally a Mill building and has been adapted and refurbished numerous times, since its construction most recently being converted for use as teaching spaces. Since its inception, the building has also been extended twice to incorporate a 3 storey and 4 storey extension respectively. The refurbished building will house a new Health and Wellbeing Centre (HWC).
The estimated value of the scheme is between 3 500 000 GBP and 4 500 000 GBP excluding VAT.
It is envisaged that the construction will begin by no later than January 2016 with the building being operational no later than November 2016.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: The Authority will apply all the offences listed in Article 45(1) of Directive 2004/18/EC (implemented as Regulation 23(1) of the Public Contract Regulations (PCR) 2006 in the UK) and all of the professional misconducts listed at Article 45(2) of Directive 2004/18/EC (see also Regulation 23(2) in the PCR 2006) to the decision of whether a Candidate is eligible to be invited to tender.
