Description of the contract

The exterior repair of St Stephen’s Tavern. The remedial works include cleaning and repair of the stonework, repairs to the windows, external doors, roof, metalwork, rainwater goods, terracotta and some further investigative and remedial repairs. To complete the Works, building facades must be scaffolded and the scaffolding design will need to allow access to the roof, provide a secure site, and contain water run-off from the façade cleaning. The front balconies will also require restoration. These Works are to be confirmed once scaffolding is in place and temporary propping is under the balcony with the cement screed carefully removed from the top surface. Works are likely to include replacing corroding fixings, repairing any cracks, and coating in a roofing asphalt (or similar, to be specified) to prevent rain water saturating the joints in the structure.
