The University is looking to appoint a main building contractor to design and construct a proposed new circa 230 Nr bed spaces student residential accommodation, within the campus adjacent to the existing All Saints Court residential accommodation.
It is anticipated that the new building will be completed and fully commissioned in readiness for use at the commencement of the academic year commencing in September 2016.
Allowing for the University’s own processes and activities, this would suggest a practical completion date no later than August 2016.
It is anticipated that the main building contractor will be entirely responsible for all infrastructure/utilities requirements and fitting out the new residential accommodation, together with all furniture to provide a ‘turn-key’ facility.

The University will develop the project to RIBA Work Stage 3 and obtain full Planning Permission.
The Architect, Structural Engineer and Services Engineer who have been appointed by the University in respect of the design development to RIBA Work Stage 3 will be retained by the University to carry out vetting and verification services during the post tender and construction phases of the project.
The Building Contractor shall procure all appropriate architectural, structural and design services to complete the design including the provision of all relevant and appropriate ‘as built’ design drawings, specifications and the like at completion.
The Building Contractor shall ensure that all their designers, including sub-contractors having a design liability, provide the University with appropriate design warranties. Further details will be provided in the tender documentation.
The University is not liable for any costs (including any third party costs, fees or expenses) incurred by those expressing an interest in, participating or tendering for this contract opportunity.
The University reserves the right to change without notice, the procedure for awarding the contract, to reject all or any bids for the contract, to terminate the process and not to award a contract at any time without liability on its part. No contract will be created between the University and any party until a contract is executed between the University and the winning tenderer.
Tenders and all supporting documentation for the contract must be in English and must be priced in sterling.
Any agreement entered into will be governed by English law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
