There are 2 Lots associated to this Tendering Opportunity.
Lot 1 — Bus stop poles, information cases and flag maintenance including flag graphic provision and Lot 2 — Bus Shelter Maintenance.
Suppliers are invited for both Lots or single Lots. SPT reserves the right to appoint one Supplier to both Lots or 2 Suppliers to each Lot.
SPT also reserves the right to appoint no Suppliers to any Lot.
Lot 1 — SPT manages over 11,200 bus stops on behalf of 12 councils within the SPT area. In addition SPT presently owns over 14,200 bus stop pole mounted information cases attached to bus stops throughout the 12 council areas and 300 bus stop supplementary tablets displaying bus service numbers. There are also 30 bus stops presently fitted with integrated solar power systems for the illumination of the flag and/or information cases.
This contract will cover the routine maintenance, repair, removal, installation or re-location of these bus stops and their component parts including information cases, flags and provision of flag graphics.
Lot 2 — This contract will cover the maintenance of around 2,030 bus shelters located in the following 8 council areas – East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire. During the contract period it may transpire that SPT will require shelters in other council areas, which are within the SPT area, to also be maintained under this contract, which would be at the same tendered rates.
The requirements are for the bus shelters to be maintained, repaired, removed and relocated to another site or holding shelters in a secure area, plus maintenance of shelter illumination which is provided from mains power or solar.
There are 350 bus shelters with mains power supplies which require routine and periodic electrical checks and electrical repairs. Contractors bidding for Lot 2 must provide prices for carrying out the electrical checks however these will be evaluated as a separate lot and may or may not be awarded.
