Description of the goods or services requiredCLASP – Community Led Action and Support Project – is a well established charity and company operating in North Ayrshire. The assignment is Big Lottery funded and aims to review the services we provide in North Ayrshire, focusing on older people in community settings. The consultant will also support us with sustainability planning (for when the BL grant ends in 2018), business planning and advice on tendering opportunities. The current scope of our services includes befriending, health and well being activities, information and advice and more intensive one-to-one support. Deliverables will include: • A research digest (particularly for use in its entirety or extracts to support bids and tenders) and suitable for providing feedback to Big Lottery on the BL funded HOPE project • An outline business plan • An outline 5 year cash flow projection (suitable for accompanying bids / tenders) • Training / coaching on tendering (either on examples or real tenders) • Support to one or more tenders • Feedback / discussion with senior staff and Board Members. Total quantity or scope of tenderThe maximum budget for the assignment (funds already secured from Big Lottery Scotland) is £14,525 inclusive of all expenses and VAT. The overall elapsed duration of the assignment is approximately 5 months (flexible), however we would expect a prompt start to plan the assignment in detail and initiate surveys etc. |

3 Conditions for Participation |

Minimum standards and qualification requiredWe would particularly welcome interest from suppliers who are self-employed / SMEs / third sector. We can accept submissions from individual advisers or small teams. The successful consultant will have: • Previous relevant experience at a suitable level of seniority • Practical management of similar services • Experience of consultancy / advisory roles • Experience of sustainability planning including good working knowledge of funding types / sources • Experience of preparing / advising on tenders. We are looking for a consultant that will get to know us well as an organisation and will work closely with us rather than at arm’s length. We will help by identifying key stakeholders and others to speak with and facilitating the engagement of the older people (through surveys and discussion groups). We would expect to work closely with the consultant to prepare the business plan. |
