Cardiff University wish to procure telephony services via the Janet Telephony Purchasing Service Dynamic Purchasing System.

Cardiff University is planning to migrate it’s ISDN30 PSTN connectivity and associated DDI number Ranges for the current mixed telephony platforms (comprised of Siemens HiPath PBX and Cisco CUCM VOIP — which are serving a combined total of approximately 7 000 extensions) onto SIP Trunk connectivity — delivered primarily across its dual 10 Gbs Janet network connections.

The migration will be completed in a phased approach, with initial connectivity being made to the existing CUCM platform and a 3rd party call management platform. It is planned to complete SIP Migration by Jan 2016.

NB a separate tender is in preparation for the entire university telephony service to be migrated to a new Microsoft Lync Telephony Platform over the next 12 months and this should be considered in design and implementation planning.
The estimated spend for this project is 150-250 000 GBP. The contract award will be for 3 years and will include an option to extend for up to a further 2 years.
Solution providers are required to:
— Assist with the design, implementation and associated migration activity;
— Have a proven track record of handling similar migrations, preferably within the HE Sector;
— Adhere to a commitment to deliver to a very aggressive timescale — target completion for migration the first DDI range is to be completed before End June 2015.
Estimated value excluding VAT:
Range: between 150 000 and 250 000 GBP
