- Halton Borough Council wishes to appoint a Supplier(s) to undertake masterclasses in relation to the Care Act 2014 on behalf of the Greater Merseyside Partnership.
Context and background
Funding has been allocated to a cluster of Authorities within the Greater Merseyside region to implement Care Act learning and development opportunities. From this a number of key themes have been identified where a collaborative approach achieves greater efficiency, both in terms of economy of scale and the opportunity to network and share best practice. The three themes chosen for this commission all have a pivotal aim of enabling integration of practice; across and within disciplines, organisations and geographical areas.
The Care Act 2014 places new responsibilities on the public sector, and drives the need to co-produce innovative solutions across services and intervene at an early stage of service need to ensure keep people healthier, supported and, where possible, based within their home and community environments, for longer. Providing staff with the knowledge and understanding of the ‘customer journey’, and their rights and responsibilities within that, is pivotal to successful health and social care interventions.
The Authorities within the Greater Merseyside Partnership consist: Cheshire West and Chester; Wirral; Liverpool; Sefton; Knowsley; St Helen’s; Warrington; and Halton. Commonality and collaboration need to be emphasized whilst also maintaining recognition that the demographical reach of the region covers a complex representation of needs as well as diversity in structures of provision.
