Great Chart Primary School is situated in the heart of Singleton, Ashford, Kent. Ashford is a growth town, partly due to its easy access to Europe via the Channel Tunnel and the International Station. Whilst some children come from the village of Great Chart, most live in Singleton. The school is 2-form entry and 3-form entry in 2 year groups only, consisting of 16 classes and is presently oversubscribed.
Our current school meals catering contract expires at the end of this school year (2015) and in accordance with best procurement practice, EU and UK Procurement Directives and Regulations. We are seeking a provider to operate the School Meals and catering requirements commencing September 2016. The procurement process adopted is based upon the ‘Open’ Procedure, as detailed in ‘The Public Contract Regulations 2015’.
Procurement Services Group, a function of Commercial Services a wholly owned business of Kent County Council, has been engaged by Great Chart Primary School to act on its behalf in respect of the procurement process.

— The school has approximately 480 pupils and 70 staff;
— The school currently produces approximately 351 meals on an average school day over 3 sittings for pupils and staff;
— Since the introduction of Universal Infant Free School Meals the daily average meal uptake across the eligible years (year R, 1 and 2) is 193 out of 210 children;
— Some of the pupils are eligible for Free School Meals;
— The kitchen is fully functioning and well equipped;
— All equipment is the property of the school;
— The contract is for 38 weeks per year (term time only). Please assume that Bank Holiday cover is not required as the school closes.

Range: between 300 000 and 600 000 GBP
