South West London Pathology, hosted by St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, is looking to procure a Cellular Pathology solution based at the St. George’s hub site. South West London Pathology is looking for a single MSP that covers all aspects of Cellular Pathology. Any solution must incorporate a lean methodology of working with a high degree of flexibility and automation. Innovative solutions are strongly encouraged.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

The proposed equipment must be able to meet the current workloads within normal working hours of an extended working day (8:00-19:00) with capacity to increase these by 5 % per annum for the duration of the contract. The overall package to be provided must enable a larger throughput of samples, with less hands–on requirements, whilst providing equivalent or better sensitivity & specificity than currently available, without compromising quality. It must be backed up with a fully comprehensive, rapid response maintenance contract and enhanced IT middleware capability as well as other aspects set out in this document. South West London Pathology was formally established 1.4.2014 and its members currently comprise of: Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust.

The contract being advertised falls under the light touch regime for social and other specific services (‘SOS Services’). Accordingly the reference to the restricted procedure at Section IV.1.1 does not apply. The procurement will be run in accordance with Section 7 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (‘the Regulations’). The Trust intends only to be bound to the Regulations insofar as they apply to SOS Services. Further details are set out in the procurement documents. The Trust reserves the right not to award any or part of this contract, postpone or terminate the procurement process (or any part of it) or change the procedure used to procure the contract, at any time without liability on its part. No contract will be created between the Trust and any bidder until a contract is executed between the Trust and the successful Bidder.
