II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

This tender is for coach hire (with a driver) and will cover all of the University of Worcester’s coach hire requirements. The tender is split in to 3 Lots:
Lot 1 — Graduation Transport.
Coaches are required to transport graduates and their visitors, staff and VIPs between various University sites and Worcester Cathedral for the annual graduation ceremonies which take place over four days, currently in November. It is anticipated that this Lot will be awarded to 1 supplier.
Lot 2 — Executive Coach Hire.
The main requirement under this Lot is for a professional shuttle service between University of Worcester sites for University Open Days and other University events. It is anticipated this Lot will be awarded to 1 supplier.
Lot 3 — General Coach Hire.
This Lot will cover all other University of Worcester coach hire requirements and will include local, national and international destinations. A framework agreement will be created for this Lot and it is anticipated that 3 suppliers will be appointed.

1)Short description

This Lot will be for coach hire to transport students, staff and visitors for all other requirements. This will cover local, national and may include international destinations and will cover minibus, midi coaches and coach hire.
A framework agreement will be created for this Lot and it is envisaged that 3 suppliers will be appointed to the framework.

Graduation ceremonies currently take place in November over 4 days. There are two ceremonies per day and coaches will be required to transport passengers for all ceremonies. There will be approximately 1 200-1 500 passengers to transport per ceremony.

1)Short description

This Lot will cover the University of Worcester’s requirements for a highly professional coach hire service. The main requirement will be a shuttle service for University Open Days.
It is envisaged that this Lot will be awarded to 1 supplier.

There are currently 6 Open Days per year and 4 coaches (including one wheelchair accessible vehicle) will be required. For 5 of the Open Days coaches will be required for approximately 6 hours and for the remaining 1 will be required for approximately 5 hours.
