New Lanark Trust has achieved a First Round Pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a Townscape Heritage project – “Completion of the Restoration and Interpretation of Historic Millworkers’ Housing in the New Lanark World Heritage Site”. This will deliver resources for conservation/restoration work to a number of A Listed buildings in the village, and a programme of activities to encourage engagement with the heritage.
The New Lanark Trust wishes to appoint a multi-disciplinary Design Team to develop and implement a scheme of restoration and conservation to a series of properties and sites in the World Heritage Site. The successful services provider will be required to take on responsibility for taking the existing design proposals from RIBA Stage B plus through to the completion of the RIBA plan of work. The appointed design team will be responsible for developing and implementing the scope of repair work required to address the conservation and restoration requirements of the properties.

Justification for the choice of accelerated procedure: The New Lanark Trust must submit an application to secure funding to deliver the capital project by 29.1.2015. Adherence to the timescale required by other procedures would mean that this timescale would not be achieved and the opportunity to secure this funding would be lost.
