The project is for a new building to accommodate the new location for the University Student Union activities. The project will provide circa 4 000 m2 of new space over ground to third floor levels (+hl plant) comprising the following:

Union hall space (double storey),
Shop facility,
Cafe/bar facility,
Recreation studio,
Various flexible spaces to accommodate range of student union activities, offices, club/meeting rooms, informal meeting space, counselling offices and informal social spaces,
All associated fit out works.
The new building will be sited onto the University Salutation car park site located between Higher Chatham Street and Higher Cambridge Street.
The works will include some local landscaping treatment works to the site/surrounding car park areas.
The project will be assessed using the BREEAM 2011 template to achieve a rating of very good.
The project will be procured as a single stage Design and Build project.
