Construction of a water transfer pipeline and associated structures, including break tank and inlet reception at Otterbourne from Testwood Water Supply Works (WSW), Hampshire to Otterbourne WSW, Hampshire. The anticipated length of the pipeline is 22 km. This may involve design, testing and commissioning. The work needs to commence by April 2013 and construction completed by July 2014. Concurrently, Southern Water will be carrying out enhancement work to the Works at Testwood. Whilst it is proposed that work to enhance the Works at Testwood and the construction of the pipeline will be awarded separately, Southern Water may seek to offer both agreements to one contractor. This may also involve design, testing and commissioning for provision of the works.

This is a call for competition. Interested providers must express an interest by e-mail to the contact in section 1 by the deadline shown in this notice, requesting a questionnaire and should provide their company name and /or a principal contact name, e-mail address and telephone number. No further information is required at this stage and an acknowledgement e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided in the expression of interest. Questionnaires will be sent after the closing date of this notice. Applicants will be invited to complete and return the questionnaire with all the information required to satisfy the conditions of participation. Southern Water may invite one or a number of candidates to attend an interview as part of the selection process. Southern Water may also invite one or a number of candidates to negotiate for the contract(s). A Bond and/or Parent Company Guarantee may be required. Southern Water Services Ltd may use a ‘reverse auction’ as part of the procedures leading to the award of the contract.
