For the provision of support; information and advice to carers in Newcastle upon Tyne.
We have considered Lotting under this contract however it was deemed not appropriate for the following reasons:
— The new carer model being proposed for the provision of carer services in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a single model and lends itself to a single provider.
— The difficulty expressed by carers of accessing multiple providers.
— The award of the contract to a single provider will maximise infrastructure and management savings.
— The Care Act 2014 recognises the need to reduce multiple professional contact in peoples lives.
