Wiltshire Council invites expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified service providers capable of providing a high quality advocacy service for Wiltshire’s children and young people. Advocacy practice is an established way of working with vulnerable children and young people. This service will support children and young people at key points in their lives.

 

The successful tenderer will provide an advocacy service in the following areas:

 

1.    Child protection conferences – where a child protection issue has been raised the advocate will need to understand the young person’s views and feelings. All children and young people have the right to an advocate in these circumstances.

 

2.    Looked after children and care leavers – children and young people that are looked after or wish to make a complaint have the right to an advocate.

 

3.    Disabled children and young people – any disabled child or young person in Wiltshire shall have the right to an advocate.

 

The contract(s) will be for a 3 year period starting 1st April 2016 and with an option to extend by up to 2 years.
