This Contract is for the management and treatment of dry recyclate requirements to the Council as detailed in the Contract Terms & Conditions and the Specification contained within the Invitation to Tender. The dry recyclate includes paper, card, cardboard, mixed plastics, steel and aluminium cans, aerosols and glass. It is primarily household waste, but includes some commercial waste. The Contract is offered on the basis of Lots as detailed within this Contract Notice and the Invitation to Tender.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

The Contract is offered on the basis of Lots. Lot 1 is a total service for the receipt and treatment of ca. 16 000 tonnes per annum of dry recyclate. The Contractor is required to provide a transfer facility for the receipt of the recyclate which is delivered by Council vehicles; and then to transport the recyclate to a MRF where it is to be treated for recycling. The Contractor is required to market the treated materials and share the income with the Council in accordance with the Conditions of Contract. Lots 2 and 3 together cover the range of the services described as Lot 1 above. Lot 2 is for the provision of a transfer facility for the receipt and storage of the ca. 16,000 tonnes per annum of dry recyclate; Lot 3 covers the transport of the materials from the Lot 2 transfer station (the Lot 2 contractor is required to load them; the Lot 3 Contractor is responsible for collecting and transporting them), the treatment of the dry recyclate for recycling and the marketing of materials, from which the Lot 3 Contractor shares the income with the Council in accordance with the Conditions of Contract.
