Queens University Belfast (QUB) wishes to procure services for the next generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of polyA-mRNA and whole exomes (DNA) from samples of total RNA and genomic DNA, respectively, derived from cancer cell lines in the QUB biobank. The service should include sample quality control, library preparation, and NGS on a suitable sequencing platform and timely transfer of generated data to QUB. The purpose of this analysis is to support the validation of gene signature biomarkers that are being designed in QUB for the identification of molecular subtypes of cancer.
As the accrual of cell line samples is still underway, this tender will be for the batch-sequencing of samples on an ongoing and potentially irregular basis. It is estimated that between 200 and 400 samples will require sequencing in total and these will be supplied in numerous batches of various sizes. The contract will initially be for a period of 3 years, however, the University reserves the right, on agreement with the successful company, to extend its duration under conditions no worse than this contract.
