Cambridgeshire County Council wish to appoint a contractor(s) for a minimum period of 3 years commencing on 1.4.2015 until 31.3.2018 and extendable for a further 1 year up to a maximum period of 4 years for the removal of bodies where a death has been referred to H.M. Coroner.
In Cambridgeshire bodies are presently removed to Addenbrookes, Papworth or Peterborough Hospitals during mortuary opening hours. Out of mortuary opening hours most cases are removed back to the supplier’s own premises, and moved to the mortuary in due course when required. There are circumstances where the supplier may be required to collect bodies from out of County, or to transport them out of County. In the event of a catastrophe the bodies will be taken to a centre in accordance with the Cambridgeshire County Council Emergency or Pandemic Plans in place at the time.
The Councils are looking to tender this requirement as four geographical Lots.

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: Cambridgeshire County Council will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. The duration of this standstill will be disclosed at this point. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. Such additional information should be required from (Refer to address in part 1.1) If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not been successfully resolved the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No 5) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
