The Council wishes to produce an Approved Provider Register for Counselling in Schools. It is widely recognised that schools can play a key role in helping to promote good mental health and wellbeing and building resilience in children and young people. Working in partnership with other agencies, schools can help to identify problems at an early stage to prevent mental health issues from escalating. Providers that are interested in being on the Register will be asked to complete a formal application and assessment process, via the Chest. The full opportunity will be advertised on The Chest week commencing 29th February 2016. To find out more about this important opportunity and to support the application process, the council have organised two briefing sessions for interested providers. The Briefings will be used to outline the specific requirements, the application process and the Approved Provider Register. The sessions will be identical in terms of format and will be taking place on: • Thursday 25th February 2016 – 1.30pm • Thursday 25th February 2016 – 3.30pm. Both sessions will be taking place in the Salford Suite, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5AW and will last for approximately an hour and a half. If you would like to book a place on one of these sessions, please email email@example.com with your name, organisation and preferred time slot. Please note – attendance of these briefing sessions is not compulsory as they are designed to offer providers more information prior to the opportunity being advertised. Providers who do not attend these sessions will not be penalised in any way.
