Name of Service: Provision of a Counselling Supervision Service

Purpose of the Service:

A post is required to support counsellors through the supervisory process in maintaining a current awareness of best practice in open, unlimited counselling, and in implementing this within both professional and service policies, standards and guidelines.

Term: The service will run for 2 years and the contract will include an option to extend for a further year. The contract will commence on 1 April 2016.

Where: Wrexham County Borough Council’s Lifelong Learning Department

To Provide: To support a total of up to 5 counsellors through the supervisory process in monthly, 2-hour sessions. The Provider must also be aware that, due to the demand on the service, time-limited counselling may be instigated.

Promotion of, and support for, the development of reflective practice

through the supervisory process with both individuals and possibly

small groups.

The Provider will play an active role, in conjunction with the Health

and Well-Being Manager and the Advanced Practice Practitioner/

Counsellor Co-ordinator, in the identification of training and

development needs as they emerge within supervision, so that

professional and service development needs are met.

Deliverables: The Provider will provide up to 2 hours of counselling supervision per

month, per counsellor, with each Provider working with up to 5

members of staff.

The Provider will take responsibility for his/her own travel expenses,

tax, liability, health insurance, and pension arrangements.

The Provider will take responsibility for his/her own supervision and

professional development – access is available to WCBC training

events but in the Provider’s own time.

Management: Management costs for this contract must not exceed 10% of the value.

PLEASE NOTE THAT, ALTHOUGH WE WILL REQUIRE 3 PERSONNEL IN TOTAL, PROVIDERS MAY BID IN RESPECT OF 1 STAFF MEMBER ONLY
