Description of the goods or services required

To design venues of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the Overlay Department interacts with more than 30 key client functions from the Organising Committee: Sport (liaison with all International Federations), Broadcast, Press operations, Technology, Medical, Logistics, Food and Beverage, Security, Spectator Services, Transportation, Volunteers, etc, …

The collection of requirements is performed through an iterative process (the Integrated Design Process) which commenced at the end of 2011 and will carry on until end of 2013. At this stage of the project, the space requirements of every function are not fully defined.

The crowd modelling consultancy will work in close collaboration with Glasgow 2014 and the Venue Owners.

Venue visits will be held to establish an understanding of the venues and meet with the venue owner’s representatives, to collect information on issues with regards to pedestrian activities and observe pedestrian movement when the venue is in use.

In addition to the time spent on site, the consultant will be expected to collect data from the Glasgow 2014: Overlay Team, Venue Operations, Spectator Services, Security and Transport.
