The design is for a type B package and associated transport frame, to transport irradiated Fuel within the UK. All transfers are to be completed by 2022.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL) wishes to procure a licensed design in accordance with the IAEA regulations and approved for use in the UK by the UK regulatory appointed body. The design is for a type B package and associated transport frame, to transport irradiated Fuel within the UK. All transfers are to be completed by 2022.
The scope of supply shall include design of the equipment required to handle the flask(s) during filling, loading, transport, trans-shipment and off-loading. Stages of supply may include:
— concept design;
— detailed design and supply of a full size or scaled prototype(s) (if required);
— regulatory testing (if required);
— detailed design for the flask and associated transport equipment;
— development of design safety report;
— development of operating and maintenance instructions;
— Consultation with Regulators and modification of design (if required);
— submission of application documentation for regulatory approval;
— receipt of certificate of approval.
Design Authority Support throughout the duration of the manufacture of flask(s) and associated transport equipment with supporting quality documentation. This will include managing with the regulators and receiving the full license agreement and registration of each flask produced or modified.
DSRL reserves the right to utilise an existing design should it be available providing it can be licensed and configured to meet the requirements of the irradiated Fuel.

In accordance with guidelines issued by the Office of Nuclear Regulation — Civil Nuclear Security (ONR – CNS), this contract opportunity has a Security Classification of Official Sensitive.

From 2.4.2014 the Government introduced its new Government Security Classifications (GSC) classification to replace the Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS). A key aspect of this is the reduction in the number of security classifications used. All potential suppliers should make themselves aware of the changes as it may impact on this Requirement.
