Description of the contract
Lancaster Product Development Unit, the knowledge exchange team for the Engineering Department at Lancaster University has been successful in applying for funding from the European Regional Development Fund to continue its activity in working with a range of businesses from across the northwest region under the banner of a new project, SusDRAM:EDA (Sustainable Design for Rapid/Additive Manufacturing: Engineering Design Academy). The SusDRAM:EDA is a £1.7M funded business support programme, aiming to work with small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Cheshire, Cumbria, Grater Manchester and Lancashire to engage in collaborative activities with the university allied to advanced manufacturing, for the retention and creation of economic growth in the Northwest of England. The SusDRAM:EDA team is seeking a private sector software specialist reseller to support the work of this project, by assisting with the supply of design packages. This includes computer aided design and manufacture (CAD/CAM), and encompasses potentially all aspects of advanced design. The project aims are rooted in additive manufacturing and solutions should be geared towards this technology area. It is envisaged that one or more suppliers will be appointed as a result of this tender and that the framework agreement will be in place initially until 30th June 2015 from date of award. There may be the potential to extend for a further periods, subject to funding and performance. The University retains the option to extend the contract to complete the works or to undertake any associated, optional works. Lancaster University reserves the right not to award a contract following this tender, nor does it bind itself to accept the lowest price or any quotation. The University reserves the right to terminate the contract in the event of continued unsatisfactory performance. This tender is being conducted electronically using Lancaster University e-tendering system, European Regional Development Fund Programme The work undertaken in this tender is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013.
