Leicester City Council Property division is soliciting for bids from well suited organisations to design, supply, installation and commissioning fire alarm system at retail units at City Hall along Charles street. Bids will be for a Gent Fire Alarm System based on the schedule of works detailed in Appendix A.
Fire System Overview:-
Install a complete fire alarm system to all Retail Units to L1, all devices are to be supplied new and the old devices removed once the new loop is up and running.
This option will have no disruption to the Retail Unit Detection, as the old loop will not be turned off until the new detection is in place and commissioned.
The coverage is to be migrated over to the Main Vigilon Control Panel as a 4th Loop, meaning the removal of the Gent Compact System at the end of the works.
Note the cause & effects of the system are to be retained and programmed to suit the evacuation strategy of the Main Building & Retail Units, “one out all out will not be acceptable”.
There will be limited down time of the Main System whilst the new loop card is installed, this will be limited to less than one hour.
All work is based on normal working hours at present as access is required to both the Offices and each Retail Unit for commissioning, this will involve sounder testing in the Retail Units and a final Cause and Effect Test between the Office & Retail Units including sounders.
Once live the old redundant loop will be removed as far as possible, contractor is to blank off old detector locations & call points removed / blanked off.
All Health & Safety requirements are to be met in relation to working in a public area
