The successful service provider chosen by the Council for the Derry Wireless Contract pursuant to this competition will be granted the right to use street furniture assets, predominantly street lighting columns, to provide wireless communications network infrastructure and will provide payments (fees and/or revenues) to the Council in return.
The access infrastructure provided will be open access and will form a technology neutral network capable of supporting mobile broadband in the near term (Wi-Fi and 3G) as well as into the future (4G through LTE and the next generation of Wi-Fi).
Design, Supply, Installation of public realm Wi-Fi network in Derry ~ Londonderry.
The services that are required are detailed below:
1. Upgrade current Wi-Fi network to 802.11 N (see Appendix 1 for network coverage map).
Suppliers should state if they will be using all new equipment or if they wish to use existing equipment.
If using a combination of equipment (new and existing) how can suppliers guarantee that manufacturers kit will interact with each other.
