Description

Leicester City LCB Depot is looking to replace its current outdoor café furniture with contemporary, classic designed furniture to set its courtyard as a destination space. This opportunity compliments other work to refresh and celebrate LCB depot as we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year.

The courtyard is approximately 8 x 8m and the overall furniture layout must adhere to DDA regulations and any furniture must adhere to these regulations as per the conditions as laid out in the JCT Landscape Maintenance Works Contract 2012. This will need to be advised upon by the successful company. For these reasons, no specific measurements have been given for our outdoor furniture and an approximate requirement has been given below.

LCB Depot wishes to procure the following:

• 24-6 chairs, or a mix of chairs and benches to seat up to 24 people.

• 2-3 larger tables for 6 people.

• 5-6 square/ circular tables for 4 people.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

• The minimum dimensions of all tables must be 80cm by 80cm as our current tables (70x70cm) are too small.

• All furniture must be weatherproof and suitable for heavy commercial outdoor use as they remain outdoors all Summer.

• In terms of style, we are looking for furniture that looks coherent, quality and stylish, and compliments the creative, professional LCB Depot brand and metal/wood/ urban aesthetic of the building.

PROPOSAL TO SUBMIT

The requirements above are for guidance purposes only. The tenderer therefore is invited to send through recommendations of ‘table and chair sets’ to suit our brief. This could be one or more proposals, but each proposed furniture set need to detail:

• The total number of tables and chairs.

• Relevant features/ benefits of each product, e.g. product make-up, guarantee, weatherproofing, stackability, sustainably sourced wood, light weight.

• An overall cost quote (including any delivery charges/ multiple order discount), and a unit cost per furniture piece.

• Photographs of the outdoor furniture.

Your proposal should be structured in line with these requirements. Only submissions that include all of the above proposal points will be evaluated.

Samples of the furniture will be requested before contract award.

The maximum budget available for this project is £3,000 (excluding VAT) but inclusive of layout proposal and the supply of furniture.

Site visits can be undertaken by attending LCB Depot, 31 Rutland Street, Leicester LE1 1RE. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm. An appointment is not necessary.

This should be returned by 16:00hrs on 2 June 2014 at the very latest.
