Janet(UK) is looking to recruit a software development company to develop a bespoke resource scheduling and management system consisting of a user interface and booking system which will interface with existing video infrastructure. The software will enable Janet users to access and control the centralised videoconferencing facilities that Janet(UK) operate on the network.
For clarification the required development does not include a video client or a web based video system, Users participate via their own choice of video software or hardware. The web service required will communicate service and conference information with the standard based MCUs via published APIs to enable users to schedule and control their conferences live.

The contract envisaged will be for the design, development and support of a common user interface for a Resource Management System. It will also involve the development of Common Objects based on standards and comprehensive Application Protocol Interfaces (APIs) to the infrastructure services.
There will be a number of fixed deliverables such as:
— Requirements Model,
— Design and deployment of physical architecture,
— Build and delivery of major service elements,
— System integration with videoconferencing infrastructure and testing,
— System testing, client requests for change and debugging,
— Transition of databases and migration of live service to new system,
— Completion of handover and sign-off,
— Ongoing support and maintenance.
