II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
The BBC has a portfolio of generic (gTLD), sponsored (sTLD) and International Country Code (ccTLD) internet domain names currently being managed by an external domain management supplier. The management of the portfolio includes all aspects of registrations, renewals, transfers and DNS management with the exception of hosting of associated domain name content.
The following summary provides a category breakdown of the current portfolio of domain names in order to set expectations for the scope of current and expected work.
— gTLD’s = 58 %;
— ccTLD’s/sTLD’s = 41 %; *(Includes a high proportion of .uk names);
— Domain blocks (.xxx) = 1 %.
The contract will be for a period of 36 months due to commence on 1.4.2016. There is an option to extend the contract by up to 24 months following the expiry of the initial term.
There is also the potential for a further ancillary service for running the .bbc registry which could be included in year 4 and 5 should the BBC wish to extend the contract.

The BBC will evaluate technical ability/financial standing of the bidders in accordance with Articles 57-65 of Directive 2014/24/EU and Regulations 57-65 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and detailed explanations of the evaluation methodology and minimum criteria to be satisfied are set out in the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire.

The awarding authority reserves the right not to award a contract and to annul the procurement process at any stage. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in Sterling and all payments will be made in Sterling. The contract shall be subject to English law. The awarding authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest, or any tender and reserves the right to accept part of a tender unless the tenderer expressly stipulates otherwise in the tender document.
