Description
NHS West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting expressions of interest and proposals to provide a counselling service to women who have suffered domestic violence.
The CCG is seeking to establish a new contract for the provision of a Domestic Violence Survivor Counselling Service which will offer accessible one-to-one counselling to help women address the mental health impact of domestic violence, thereby enabling them to regain control, make informed choices for themselves and their children and live free from violence and abuse.
The Service will involve an initial assessment session followed by 121 counselling sessions for up to 18 weeks. The counselling will improve women’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
The current service provision has until now been a grant funded service, which the CCG is now seeking to replace with a substantive contract for 3 years, with the potential for this to be extended by a further 2 years (5 years in total). The challenging budget has been used to date to resource a professional volunteer counsellor delivered service model. The contract on offer will require suitably qualified counsellors trained to understand the specific dynamics and issues associated with domestic violence.
