The framework agreement will be for 2 years, with an option to extend for a further 24 months and will allow the Council to purchase individual packages of generic domiciliary from providers.

It is essential for providers to support and promote the Councils objectives of delivering enabling person centred and outcome focused domiciliary care, which supports prevention and well-being in accordance with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. In this way, individuals requiring domiciliary care will be enabled, empowered and supported to live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities.

The required services will be provided to individuals with various levels of need that meet the eligibility criteria and are assessed as requiring personal and practical support within their own homes. These services will be predominately provided to older people, although not exclusively and will delivered to individuals with a range of care needs.

Due to anticipated demographic changes in Bridgend County Borough, demand on all Social Care services is expected to increase and it is anticipated that there will be an increase in demand for domiciliary care as more people choose to remain within their own homes and communities.
