KEYWORDS & NOTES DETAILS
Notes:
There are two Framework Agreements – one in relation to Homecare Services and one in relation to Extra Care Services.
In relation to the Homecare Services Framework Agreement:
Other community, social and personal services. Provision of homecare/domiciliary care services in the unitary Authority of Medway.
Homecare services (or domiciliary care services) are personal and enabling services which are necessary to assist individuals to maintain a reasonable measure of health, hygiene, safety and ease in their own home and to promote their independence and choice of lifestyle. These are usually personal care services provided by care workers, who go to the service users own home to help with tasks including washing, dressing and help with medication.
The homecare services under the Framework Agreement will be available to adults over the age of 18 who meet Medway Councils fair access to care services (FACS) eligibility criteria of Substantial and Critical.
In relation to the Extra Care Services Framework Agreement:
The Extra Care Services Framework Agreement is for the provision of extra care services to residents within Medway.
Extra Care Housing enables people to live independently within a sheltered environment, with care services available 24 hours a day. People have their own front door and choice and control over who enters their home. All referrals for Extra Care are via Adult Social Care and an allocations panel managed jointly by Housing and Adult Social Care, together with the chosen Care Provider.
The Extra Care schemes that are subject to the mini- procurements that will flow from the Framework Agreement will be available for adults over the age of 55.
