This grower-focussed, technical journal provides levy payers and wider horticultural industry with news and features on AHDB activity, HDC-funded research and development, events, publications and news on practical advances in research techniques.
In addition, HDC News also presents news on non HDC-funded research and developments providing readers with clear and concise industry, scientific or commercial information from the UK and internationally.

— Present at least 1 article each issue on each of the main crop areas within the edible and ornamental sectors (listed below);
a. Bulbs and Outdoor Flowers;
b. Field Vegetables;
c. Hardy Nursery Stock;
d. Mushrooms;
e. Protected Ornamentals;
f. Protected Edibles;
g. Soft Fruit;
h. Tree Fruit;
— Include articles on developments in the horticulture industry including crop protection, political influences, an events calendar and grower interviews;
— Offer the readers a platform in which to communicate with contemporaries in industry by means of interviews, nursery/farm features and research priorities;
— First class understanding of relevant methodologies, technologies and applications;
— Ability to produce cost effective technical features and creative solutions;
— Ability to manage an efficient production timetable;
— Demonstration of excellent knowledge within the horticulture industry and journalism;
— Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and to provide coverage on commissioned projects and industry developments;
— Manage any staff and subcontractors involved within the process;
— Ensure that the journal adheres to HDC’s brand guidelines;
— To ensure smooth and organised delivery of the publication, whilst closely managing a relationship between the production team, printers and mail house.
