The Welsh Government, Department for Education and Skills (DfES) wishes to establish a development programme for senior managers working in the further education (FE) sector in Wales. The programme would strengthen leadership capacity in the FE sector in Wales, by supporting the next generation of FE leaders in their individual and institutional development. The leadership programme is to be ‘tailored’ to the context of the FE sector in Wales which has undergone significant changes in the last few years, including an extensive programme of mergers as a result of the transformation of education and training in Wales, the introduction of a new funding methodology, a new model of governance and the introduction of the new Learning Area Programmes (LAPs).

Maximum duration of this contract is 5.5 years.
The contract will initially be for the design and delivery of the pilot programme (18 months). Following the pilot the contract will be reviewed, and may be renewed, on an annual basis for a maximum further 4 years.

Description of these options: The contract will run for a maximum of 5.5 years. Following the development of the programme and delivery of the pilot, from May 2016 the contract will be reviewed, and if appropriate renewed, on an annual basis.
