Kent County Council (the Council) is the largest local authority in England covering an area of 3 500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over GBP 2bn and serves a population of 1,3m. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 289 parish/town councils.
Property Group is responsible for the effective management of the Council’s property assets and for the delivery of property related professional Services to the Council comprising of more than 1 800 properties with a value in excess of GBP 1bn. The Council has 5 Directorates, i) Communities, ii) Children’s, Families, Health and Education, iii) Environment and Regeneration, iv) Chief Executive’s Department, and v) Kent Adult Social Services. Property Group forms part of the Chief Executives Department which supports front line service delivery.
he property portfolio ranges from educational and social services establishments to office accommodation.
The Council will use this contract to procure the Services detailed below to support the effective, efficient and economic use of the Council’s estate in Zone 2 (Maidstone, Ashford and Shepway, Tonbridge and Malling). The description of the Services is not exhaustive but gives a broad overview of the Services required, for avoidance of doubt the Services will include but shall not be exclusive to the following detail.
The Council wishes to establish a single source provider for the provision of Electrical Responsive Maintenance Contract. The Council is managing this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (the ‘Regulations’).
Contract to be a 13 month contract, with the works being called off in lots. If the awarded contractor performs satisfactory during the 13 months and they agree to fix their price for a further year they may get the call off for up to further year.
This contract is for the provision of Reactive Electrical Maintenance to The Council buildings (see asset list Appendix 1 of the Specification), (The Council reserves the right to add or delete parts or entire properties within the portfolio and does not guarantee the value or the volume of orders, total or individual, to be passed through the Contract during its duration)
