Elstree Film Studios (EFS) is a wholly owned successful subsidiary of Hertsmere Borough Council (The Council). EFS is proud to host major productions such as Strictly Come Dancing, The Crown, Big Brother, The Danish Girl and The Kings Speech to name a few that continue the illustrious history of EFS. As part of the next stage of this exciting journey the Council commissioned EC Harris in 2015 to evaluate the potential for expanding production and ancillary space within the EFS footprint The Council has decided to build a 21,000 sq.ft. film stage and 26,000 sq.ft ancillary area similar to the highly successful George Lucas Stages and now wishes to give further consideration to developing another stage for film and television use, with associated ancillary areas and workshops. The Council is flexible as to how this facility could be provided and would therefore welcome early market engagement on how this project could be delivered. The Council’s approach is based on no cost or risk to the Council’s key asset, the EFS and rental income received.
