2.2

Description of the goods or services required

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and its local partners are looking to establish a time-limited development project to explore the potential of the internet, social media and mobile technologies in promoting better mental health and wellbeing for young people. A commissioned partner or consortium of partners is sought to collaborate with NHS GG&C and its local partner agencies in developing a collaborative programme with local young people, aged approximately 15-21.

Using participatory methods with young people, the intention of the project is to co-produce a number of multi-media resources and guides to the internet and mental wellbeing. This project in turn will guide longer term developments in the youth mental health sphere in the health board area.

This proposal is for a time-limited programme of work, running from February 2013 to August 2013 that will guide longer term development of initiatives and services that better support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in our Health Board area. We also intend that this project yields a number of information resources that will be of benefit to children and young people in the local area, guiding them to more effective use of internet and allied support resources.
