II.1.4)Short description:

Extra care is a middle ground between sheltered housing and a care home for the older people client group. It allows residents to continue living independently, typically in a self-contained flat or bungalow, while benefiting from personal care and support delivered in a similar manner to Home Care services.

Extra Care allows individuals to live in their own accommodation in an Extra Care scheme, promoting independence with the safety net of 24/7 background support, plus additional planned care as required. Background support and personal care are being procured at each scheme.

The tender documents are available on Lancashire County Council’s electronic tendering site:www.lancashire.gov.uk/tendering

Use of this system does not require high specification IT equipment or connections, nor high level personal IT skills/capabilities. Access to the system/software and advice is free of charge. Registration is necessary in order to view the tender details and obtain tender documentation. Tenderers are advised to allow plenty of time for registration and to do this as early as possible during the tender period.

The total value of the contracts is approximately 2 500 000 GBP per annum. Therefore with respect to the initial period of 12 months and the maximum potential duration of 36 months, the total contract value range is 2 500 000-7 500 000 GBP.
