The Specification requirements exclude Gaelic and British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation, as separate provisions are in place.

Participating organisations are committed to the equality of opportunity and have a responsibility to monitor who uses services and any specific needs of these people as well as membership to groups that may be more likely than others to experience discrimination.

The Contractor is required to provide the Services at participating organisations premises across the Highlands – including but not limited to Council offices, service points, schools, hospitals, doctor surgeries, police stations and client homes.

The annual value of total expenditure against this current is currently estimated at approximately £280,000 – broken down as:-

– High Life Highland (included above)

– Advice Agency (included within The Highland Council)

– NHS Highland £200k

Tenderers must note that it is anticipated that the contract value will decrease across the Contract Period as participating organisations migrate to other methods of technology i.e. telephone and/or video-conferencing facilities.
